One play that went pretty unnoticed in this game was an OUTSTANDING play by Kristen Schreiber. I will not do it justice, but I'll try. It was a pretty critical time of the game and the Birds were starting to roll. We went to a "small ball" game. One of our Gazelles lays down a very nice push bunt towards first base. Very good bunt and what I felt was in "no man's land". I felt there was no way to throw out our speedy Bird. If she's safe, we have our top coming up with bases loaded and one out. Kristen pops out from behind the plate, determined not to let the runner be safe. The ball had taken a pretty high hop and was about 5-6 feet down the first base line. Kristen dives forward, catches the ball and throws out our runner by a half step as she's falling to the ground. Has to be one of the most athletic plays I have ever seen by ANY catcher. It was all or nothing and she executed it to perfection! Nice job young lady!!!!

If there was any catcher out there I would want a younger catcher watching, it is Hands Down, Kristen Schreiber!!

Sorry I neglected to mention this, she usually does this once a game that it's become routine. Best defensive catcher in the region IMO.
