Garrard County picked up their first district championship since 2002, beating Danville 6-0. Matt Wilburn was the winning pitcher, going seven complete, striking out seven and walking one. He also homered in the semifinal against Lincoln and was named tournament MVP. Both Garrard and Danville move on to the 12th Region tournament next week at Wayne County.

Awesome to see last night. Rain put a little bit of a damper on the celebration aspect, but all in all it was great to see as an alumni (and former baseball player). Great group of kids!

I umpired the Garrard County-Casey County game last week. I was very impressed with Garrard's team--especially their offense. Their shortstop hit 2 bombs to the opposite field. They can make some noise next week.
