Schloemer won Mr. Basketball in '78, Dirk was the next year ('79).

 

Looks like 1977 to me.

Doug was only 6'2'' at the start of his junior year?

1977 it was.

Jeff Lamp on the state champion Ballard team.

Curtis Parker signed with Jacksonville...but was horribly injured in an electrical accident that summer and was left a shell of his former self.

Some pretty good talent listed here. Lamp and Raker went on to play at the University of Virginia, with Lamp then becoming a first round draft pick and playing in the NBA for 6 years. Dirk Minnifield and Freddie Cowan played at UK. Jerry (not Terry) Eaves played at U of L and in the NBA, and then had a successful coaching career; his son was on Ballard's team this year. Mike Scearce played on a final four team at Purdue. Doug Schloemer and Junior Johnson played at the University of Cincinnati. Marty Pulliam played at U of L. Steve Barker played at Samford and now is the head coach at his alma mater, Apollo.

Agree it's the '76-'77 season, but it's a preseason list so thinking maybe 1976 not 77?

Billy Custard turned down Duke to attend Transylvania. Spoke at their Hall of Fame dinner last year.
