Is Gravity Real?

Featured Replies

Never knew Einstein had ever theorized to the contrary of Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation. This video is pretty amazing. Never knew NASA had a vacuum chamber like this either.

I kinda dig the gravity thing. Keeps me grounded. I think Al may have been bored.

The Earth orbits the sun due to the sun's gravity - right?

Does anything orbit something like the Earth and the sun? Depends on the electrical/plasma environment - according to NASA:

Magnetism is massively stronger that gravity.

Always liked this youtube. It shows how simple static charge on an ordinary balloon will attract various materials - not just metal. It also attracts running water being pulled down due to the gravity. A simple childs ballon can alter the power 'gravity field' of the Earth. What was really interesting is at the 9:15 mark. Shavings of material that are picked up by the static charge are oriented perpendicular to the surface - i.e. standing up on end - like grass and trees.

It would be interesting to combine the concepts of the two videos above and test what would happen if you placed an electric current driven magnetic field in the vacuum and attracted both objects to see if the speed of attraction was the same. As the static balloon shows it will attract objects made of various material (not just metal).
