Hey CoW, can you provide us with some pertinent game info? Any type will help us understand the outcome. All I have is that a HHS pitcher gave up 9 runs in 2/3rds of an inning. How those runs were earned or produced, have no idea. So anything you have would be appreciated. Anything?

 

I can try. 7 runs were scored in the first. HHS started a tall lefthander (Frimfrok)sp. Looks like a very good pitcher other than, from over hearing, has had some shoulder and arm problems. Looks a little rusty because of it. They pitched to other right handers after him, but the damage was somewhat done. HHS did hit the ball and at times hard, but right at the defense. Beechwood made every play. Beechwood started a junior right hander. He is a very good pitcher but just came up short of Varsity. Very efficient thrower. I think they had him slated to throw2-3 but since his pitch count was so low they let him go 4. A freshman lefthander pitched the last inning. He has a lot of velocity but can be a wild. I was hoping that Ethan Doty was going to pitch for HHS. That would have been a different game. His dad said that he will only pitch Varisty relief, but may dh or occasionally catch for JV.

Like I said, after the first inning it was a really good game. Both sides hit the ball but the Tigers "hit it were they weren't".. if you will. Also, like someone mentioned above, the Bluebirds were playing their 2nd game of the day and it was our first. I don't know if that makes a difference or not... If it were me I would have wanted to be on my second game versus our first. So, we probably saw their 3,4,5 and they saw our, probably, 1 and 2.

Other than the Tigers 1st pitcher, Bode, no one really jumped out at you as having a great game. We did start some really young kids and I think they held their own. They batted 1,3,6 and 9 and played 2nd, LF, C and CF.

As far as the field be mentioned in another thread, and also being compared with Beechwoods and Meinken, it couldn't be further from the truth. We played there last year and just like last year the field was very nice. It's not the best... but it is very good. I would take it for our home field right now. lol
