Bell deserves a nice field!

They are about finished. Should be ready to go by the end of the week.

No more mud bowls?

 

That's great for Bell County, they deserve the upgrades. I have some fond, and some not so fond memories on that field. It is a tough place to play and a really good venue for high school football. As a fan, I don't care for the football stadiums where there is a track around the field, but Bell Co is one of the few that overcomes it IMO.

Yes no more mud bowls and accusations of watering down the field. It looks good I will get more pics when finished.

I remember a Belfry/Bell Regional Final game there sometime in the late 90's when Belfry had Micah Caudill.

 

I was in Middle School and the fans went on the field for the tunnel before the game. My foot seriously sank about 4 inches into the ground.. it was like walking in quick sand.

 

There is no negative intent in that account, a muddy field helped neither team, but it just went to show how awful the drainage was. Always was a great venue to take in a game. Like 'Tusi said..not a fan of tracks..but Bell always pulled it off. Always had tasty concessions as well if I recall.

Field was horrible. When they took out the drains this spring they were not drains they were crushed so they water couldn't go anywhere. Is what the supervisor for the field told me the other day.
