Who wins? Why?

 

Trimble has had an amazing year - Kerrie Stewart has taken a very young team and pretty much dominated the district this year. Very impressed by the defense and the disciplined offense in the Lady Raiders' win over North Oldham in the first round. Trimble earned their first trip to the Region since 2001 with that win.

 

Oldham County seems to be coming on here of late. Jace Bryant's third OC team is trying to repeat as district champs, and they demonstrated one of their most complete games of the year in a surprisingly easy win over the South Oldham Lady Dragons on the Dragons' home court in round 1.

 

Matchups: Trimble sophomore Shelby Black on the inside vs. Oldham senior shot-blocker Abigail Stewart.

 

Oldham guards on the perimeter vs. that Trimble County defense.

Might history be in the making tonight??? How many years has it been since: A) Trimble Co. went to the region, and B) Trimble Co. won the district title? C) It's already a bit historical in that South won't be going the 8th region party for the first time since 2005.

Thanks for the scoop. No slight to OC meant by this, but good luck to the Lady Raiders. They are due.

1981 was the last year that Trimble County won the regional tournament. I might be wrong about the district championship.
