Highlands 69 Walton Verona 50

Featured Replies

No details from me on this one. Wasn't able to attend. I do know HHS played without their starting PG in this one. Resting a wrist injury.

Highlands comes out making crispy nets in Walton, hitting 6 of 8 from 3 land in the first quarter. They build a comfy lead and never look back. Walton buckled down, started to chip away, but the early hole was too big to overcome. Highlands is a very quality basketball team.

Hopefully Coffey can get back and healthy soon! There is no doubt Highlands misses her and they are better with her on the floor. I will be honest though, with all the ball handlers and shooters on that team, the Birds still did great tonight, even without her.

Walton will be fine. They were missing 2 girls of their own tonight with concussions (DeZarn and Beckham). They will get them back soon and they will be set to finish strong. :ylsuper:

Caoch Clinkenbeard had to miss this one also for a much more important funeral for his father in law. If you would, please say a prayer for that family. They are special people.

Heard about Coach Clink. Sorry for their loss. Never easy. He is a class act and really like his coaching style.

Injuries stink and I agree Walton will bounce back. Didn't realize the Walton girls were out. Hope for a speedy recovery.

HHS has been shooting very well. Shooters are playing with a lot of confidence. Hopefully they can keep it up!

Good luck to Walton and way to go Birds!

Wow. Look at the size of this write-up and look at the write-up for the boys team. Does the saying "front-runner" mean anything here? Heck NCC gets a bigger write-up than Highlands boys basketball. Just a reminder Psalm, Highlands is the public school in Fort Thomas.

I'd prefer to see the NCC write ups limited to the Newport publications myself. But, the writer does a nice job and must feel there's enough interest to warrant their stories. Now if he's skipping Highlands games to cover NCC, then I could understand someone having an issue. But I don't think that's the case. Any and all positive coverage such as these articles is good for high schools. I enjoy his thorough coverage.

I am sure you do since the the thorough ones are on Highlands. LOL
