Collins 59 Owen County 48

Final

The Titans pick up a nice road win in Owenton. They will host Harrison County Saturday night.

Collins may have a nine game win streak when districts start. Solid #2 in the eighth.

NKU Coach Bezold was in attendance tonight..............

What makes it more impressive is that Owen led 19-9 after one, and 29-21 at half. That's 38-19 in the second half for you math majors. Not bad.

I would agree that Collins is the chief challenger to Oldham at this point in the 8th.

Hopefully this is the year that they can finally break through and win the region. Most Collins fans have felt that they have had the best team the past couple of years, but they just haven't been able to get in done in the tournament. Oldham County is the clear favorite this year but Collins, Owen County, and a few others have a shot.

I believe we can win it. Senior leadership is strong for this team. We do have a lack of size. To beat Oldham you're going to have to be making shots. But it can be done.

Collins does lack size, but size hasn't really bothered them all that much this year. They have played and beaten 4 teams lately that have a lot of size (Bullitt East, Eastern, Male, and Owen County). I really like the tough defense that Collins plays and that they are very smart on offense. They have a lot of kids that can hit shots and play well as a team. They don't quite have the talent that a few Collins teams in the past have had, but I still think they have a great shot at the title.
