Records is not the end all.. Talent level and scheduling play a major role as well.

 

I agree with you with the record not being the end all GB32. With that being said Rowan, Boyd, and Elliott are doing what is expected of them. Greenup and Ashland obviously are not. While Lewis and Morgan are the only teams overachieving. East Carter, Fairview, Raceland are also about where everyone expected them to be. While I undertsand those were only pre season rankings, but shouldn't a coach of the year candidate be someone who no one expects a lot from, or a team that just dismantles the whole region. That has not happend as far as the dominate team. So as far as coach of the year goes, I feel like it goes to Rowan, Elliott, Lewis, or Morgan counties coaches. Rowan and Elliott because they are where they are supposed to be and have followed through with being one of the top teams, or Lewis or Morgan because of their overachievment. Just my opinion. Anyone please feel free to voice their opinion on coach of the year.

Secondly, when Elliott loses to a poor Wolfe Co team and scores a total of 32 points and you vault them into 2nd in your assessment? Come on man. Take the Elliott shades off for a second and read what you typed.

Since when were Aaron Snyder's rankings the gospel? He probably had no idea who Redparth was. Couldn't foresee Nick Miller missing most of the season.

Redparth had been there since the summer. If anyone is gonna do any rankings then I suggest they find out who the players are. I used his rankings as that was the only pre season rankings I could find. What were your pre season rankings for the 16th GB32? I am interested to know.

And Elliott has beaten Morgan 3 times already. 62nd District is completely wide open. Elliott will be top seed, but after a bad loss to Wolfe County, they are clearly beatable. East showed against Boyd that they are a regional contender. Morgan will be a tough out with two clear go-to players. West has not won in the District, but they are playing everybody close now, have plenty of size, and they get to play District Tournament at home. No result will be a surprise.

Elliott Co lost last night was a terrible one. The fact are Coach Adkins wasn't their and don't look the the team chemistry wasn't the same last night. Bad shot selection, forced shots it was just a horrible game to watch and listen to. 18-8 and Elliott takes a shot with 6 or 7 seconds left in the half and they miss Wolfe goes down and scores before the half. That's just one instance with numerous other ones.. Great game plan by Wolfe and lack of coaching from Elliott.. I see them learning from this and putting it behind them.

Don't get all butt hurt over it. I disagree. Elliott hasn't proven much other than Morgan can't beat them. You can use all the logic score to score and the fact remains that Boyd beat Elliott head to head. I'd say the schedules are a bit different as well.

I was actually joking about not having an opinion. Anyway the way they are going neither Elliott nor Boyd will be much of a factor. I have seen Boyd county play once all year, I am not impressed at all. And since they lost to both Lewis and East Carter then they can't be that good. Just three days ago Lawrence county had them down by over 30 points with 4 minutes to go. So it really doesn't matter when it's all said and done, Boyd co at this point is a non factor. Whoever is playing the best come the first week of March cuts downs the nets and goes to Rupp. I am taking Rowan county right now to go. Not your Lions.

There records are very similar, if and I say if Elliott beats them next week does that make them equal or just Elliott is playing better now? There are a few more things different than just schedules, enrollment plays a huge roll, new school for recruits and a better tax base to lure a coach with the quality of Coach Anderson. Boyd Co should always be the big dog in the 16th region & Oh and I am not butt hurt. Lol. It sore from last night but it's healing. Maybe next week the scab will fall off. If we can beat the lions of Boyd Co!
