Unfortunately their JV team couldnt handle Highlands JV team the other night but carry on.

:lol2:

Why does NCC continue to play in the all A Tournament?

Sure winning the all A is nice, but is it keeping them from the ultimate prize?

They just played what, 5-6 games, against teams that their JV team could handle.... some of them the freshman team could handle.

Shouldn't they be playing against teams that would actually challenge them?

They will continue to struggle getting out of the 9th region if they don't step up their schedule.

Actually, I think the more appropriate question is, why even have an All A Tournament for any sport? I personally think it's worthless. I hate the fact that the "small" schools play the victims year in and year out. Hasn't it out lived its usefulness? Sorry, I'm not a fan never have been, never will be.....

I'm not sure how you could go to the ALL A and watch the emotions from these kids during these games and think that. The way Danville or Monroe County or others celebrated today was much like 8 teams will celebrate on a Wednesday/Thursday in Rupp in a few weeks. Or the way the Shawnee players wept on the bench much like 8 teams will weep on a Wednesday/Thursday in Rupp in a few weeks. I saw 16 teams today that wanted to have fun, win a game, and advance to play tomorrow. I didn't see a single victim.

Take a look at http://allaclassic.org/ to see what the purpose of the Tournament is. This is an excerpt:

"During the 2013-2014 school year $93,000 in scholarship money was awarded to students from small schools across the state. A total of 93 individual scholarships were awarded to students planning to attend Kentucky post-secondary institutions."

Understand if you want to take away the basketball tournament you look at everything else this tournament does for many sports out there. While we talk about only basketball these are the sports it sponsors events in:

· Baseball

· Basketball

· Cheerleading

· Golf

· Soccer

· Softball

· Volleyball

Another interesting ready about its history: All-A Classic History

Just because you (generally speaking) don't believe in it, doesn't mean there aren't many other who can't. Let the kids play and compete without taking anything away from it.

Sounds like a fan of a large school that can't compete on their own level, or maybe any level.

Hey I get it, I understand why the all A was created, for most of the teams it's a great event to compete in. My only thought is that NCC plays like a bigger school, they have better players, a better program and they do it year in - year out. Do they really gain anything by playing the first few rounds where they blow teams out by incredible margins. Many games the starters hardly play because of the competition. Maybe it doesn't hurt them in the long run ...maybe it does...IDK

All I know is for a couple weeks in Jan-Feb they destroy a lot of teams in the all A and then struggle in the regionals....maybe no correlation.
