Owensboro High School's Rash Stadium to get turf next season.

According to the article in the local paper this morning. Apparently they are paving their practice field to be used as a parking lot. Feel that turf is necessary as Rash Stadium field will now be used for practice.

 

With the new stadium that Owensboro Catholic is supposed to start playing in next season 50% of the local high schools will now have artificial turf.

 

As far as I know these are the only turf fields in Western Ky. Is anyone aware of any others on this side of the state.

Rash Satdium is a very nice place to play football. Served as home to Kentucky Wesleyan for years. Reminds me a lot of Manual Stadium, hopefully someone can get the turf down at Manual Stadium too. (New lights would surely follow)

Twenty plus years ago when I played there while at KWC it was a pretty nice facility. I do not know what it looks like now but I would bet there are many facilities much worse.

The Dungeon gets a rug! That'll be nice for the players, but they've been playing football there since 1926 (and O-boro Catholic since 1949 until this fall, when they make their move to KWC). But I can sure understand the move if they're having to practice on it as well. But congratulations are in order as they try to keep the place going!

That turf is the way to go if the funds can be raised.
