Duke @ Notre Dame Updates

Featured Replies

ND started tight and Duke had an early lead in the range of 2-5 points. Now Notre Dame has broken out and have started giving Duke some problems they've not had an answer for yet. Killing them with driving by Okafor or their posts from the free throw line and/or having their "bigs" slip backdoor. Looks like it's going to be a good one.

Halftime 39-36, Duke leads. Pretty frantic pace so far.

Duke (and Notre Dame really) plays zero defense. As great as Okafor is offensively, he's equally as inept on the defensive side.

Been a fun game so far to watch.

Quinn Cook is lighting it up big time.

Dukes lack of defense could spell another early exit from the tourney if they have an off night shooting.

IIRC, Auguste, who was in foul trouble in 1H, is the guy ND has been without for a few games recently.

Wish I could tag goldie. They're talking about her boy Kennard again.

ND tries to get you moving one way and if you shade your bigs, have their own dive. Pretty successful against Duke, but not something I would see them having as much success with against UK.

60-51 with 13:30. Duke on a 9-0 run. Started typing the last post when it was 7 and Duke got a steal and run out.

ND had gotten a little sloppy with the ball. Looked like Duke was about to put it out of reach and now it's 4 after that 3 by Jackson.

Notre Dame is historically bad on defense. Give up over 100 points per 100 possessions. Unheard of for a good team.

Side-note: didn't realize until tonight that Jon Scheyer was an assistant at Duke. Favorite Dukie ever (and it is a short list for me of ones I liked at all). We stood on the dock of the Izod Center in NJ for 20 minutes talking in December of 2008. A great dude, and taller than you think. Class act.

Watching this, I'm more concerned about Ulis than I might have been otherwise. With the way they spread the floor, his size could cause some concern if they're able to drive. Really deceptive about how they get you bigs moving if they try to help and will make it tough on anyone to recover. Can see Towns struggling in this kind of game too.

Definitely try to outscore you. No two ways about it.
