Devin Gardner and the NFL Draft

Featured Replies

Sitting here watching Edelman (a college quarterback) play and it made me think of former Michigan QB Devin Gardner.

Yesterday, at the East West Shrine game, they had Gardner playing WR.

I'm wondering, where one might draft him?

I wouldn't. I'd take him as a FA and see. He doesn't seem that fast to me.

Might think of a late round if I had multiple picks.

I'd be stunned if he tests out well for a receiver at the combine. If he does, then he might go in the late rounds.

I think he ran a 4.5 40 in high school, no idea what he would run today.

He looked slower than the other receivers on the breaks, but caught everything thrown to him and he ran well with the ball after the catch. The guy is 6'4'' or 6'5''.

He physically looks like a WR/TE tweener to me, but I'm no expert.

Now if he can bulk up and play TE, we might have something.
