Cole Bentley, Belfry, Sophomore TE / DL

Featured Replies

Belfry's other bookend DT is Sophomore Cole Bentley

6'5", 285, 4.89 40

Kid is an outstanding blocking TE and a force on the defensive line.

Got a lot of attention from Florida and Alabama as a Frosh at Florida's football camp.

I think Bentley's future is as an interior linemen and I think the sky is the limit as such. He doesn't have the speed to be a FBS Tight End/DE and he is too tall for a FBS DT. With that said..his speed as a OT or OG would be an asset, as would his agility and feet.

Already has D-1 size and he stays in pretty good shape to the point he can play iron Man football. High football IQ as Belfry used him at about 4 or 5 different positions throughout the season.

Needs to continue working on flexibility and first step quickness. Needs to keep getting stronger.

I think Bentley may end up as a pretty high end OL prospect if he does so.

I agree with everything you said ATLCat. He has the size and quickness of a D1 offensive linemen.

I think he projects as an OT. The problem with that is, some team would really have to take a flyer on him because he would have to learn the position from ground zero.

But coming from Belfry, it wouldn't be as hard a transition as one might think, being that he blocks on 95% of the plays while on offense. Pass blocking would be his biggest obstacle.
