As promised here is the spring outlook for 2015. The three month time period is March, April, May.

Temps look to be around normal. The average temps in the NKY is around 53 degrees. It is around 59 degrees in the southwest parts of the state.

As for the precipitation chances they also look to be around normal. The average precipitation in Kentucky is around 12 inches. Now as we all should know this time period is also the time we see much of our severe weather so we need to be weather aware.

Take care and I'll post updates when they are issued.

nWo, how much faith and/or accuracy do you put into these long term predictions?
First, these are outlooks not forecast. Forecast predict exactly what type of weather you should see. Outlooks are for users to have an idea of future weather relative to what happens normal in their region. These give people like farmers and other people whose lively hood may depend on the weather and idea what to expect. Also it gives government emergency management people and idea of what type a weather they may see so they can make contingency plans.

I look for these to chance some as we get closer to the time period.

Here are the latest outlook maps for the same time period. These were just released yesterday. If you compare the temperature maps you will notice a change to a better chance of warmer temps.
