Old Soda Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Brandon Griffin draws a bases loaded two out walk as the Camels defeat Ryle in eight innings. Griffin also had two hits as did Travis Hurd. Luke Bray pitches into the sixth inning in his first varsity start for the Camels, giving up only two earned runs. Charlie Loudermilk gets his first varsity win with two and two thirds of hitless relief. NCC up next for the Camels tomorrow.:ylsuper:
Raiderbback04 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Bad luck night for Ryle with 6-7 shots during the game right at Campbell players. Good game for spectators with lots of drama. Ryle was led by Mark Guttridge with 2 bullets for doubles and Garrett Wagner had 3 hits and Jerrod Babik with 2. Jeff Hatfield and Brian Weis pitched well for the Raiders and Brian was just barely missing to walk in the winning run. Congrats to the Camels.
Diamond Dandy Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Great ballgame for this early in the season.... Both teams traded atom ropes the whole game with some great defense from both clubs. Coach Roesel has to be pleases sending 2 more rookies to the mound for their first varsity apearances. Jeff Hatfield took it into the fifth before he handed it off to Weiss who got behind at times but came back and rang up a few Camels when he needed to. This was one you just didn't want to end. Great job by both clubs.
Old Soda Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 It was a good game for early in the season. Both teams will get better as the season goes on and they get more games under their belt and the weather gets warmer.

You guys have a great facility out there, great fans and very good officiating tonight compared to what we have seen this year. I am betting you guys will be in the running this year if you play like you did tonight when you meet up with Scott.
Old Soda Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Nothing I would like better than to see the Camels make it four district titles in a row !!!!!

The only time i could remember it being warm at the county during baseball is when i was working the grill.
Diamond Dandy Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Who is This Weiss Kid i have been hearing alot about him just Wondering. He is the kid that came in in relief tonight...pitched JV for Ryle last year.. has some good velocity...a little work will might earn him a spot in the rotation.
TheRookie Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 yea just checking if that was him. he looked better then the first kid with speed just looked like he couldnt get that last one. He is a Senior?
Automatic Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Sounds like a great game to watch this early in the season. Nice win for the Camels.

He is a Senior? No....Both Brian Weis and Jeff Hatfield, the first pitcher are juniors, as well as the Ryle infield...all juniors.
Raiderbback04 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I was very impressed with the quality of the umpiring last night. The guy behind the plate was extremely consistent. Great early season game. Ryle is starting one senior in the infield - Josh Duesing at first base.
