Great game. WJ led 16-13 end of 1st. GRC led at the half 25-22. WJ held GRC to 6 points in the 3rd and led 37-31. Scored was tied with 15 seconds to go in the game. WJ went to the line and hit 1 of 2. GRC rebounds. Davis shoot the ball at the end but it rolled off.

We missed the scoring of Green tonight. He is our 2nd leading scorer behind King.

Not having that second option hurts.

I was a little surprised how close this one was. WJ is pretty good this season. Says a lot for Clark to keep it close and having a chance at the end even without their second best scorer.

An interesting factoid.

WJ isn't too bad this year. They did get thumped by Lincoln County, South Laurel and Mercer County; all decent squads.

Clark County will always give you a tough battle on the defensive end.:thumb: Just a question of whether or not they can score the ball.

We are doing better this year as we do have some kids that can score. Green being out hurt us. Menchen can hit the 3 ,but was off last night. Anderson can score too. Again we had one bad quarter, the 3rd and Jones in foul trouble.

We have lost 3 games by a combined total of 10 points. Lost to Madison Central by 3. Dixie Heights by 6 and West Jessamine by 1. We have won all of our game fairly big. Closest one was Owen Co by 10. We were down 16 in the 3rd quarter and came back for the win.

This team is fun to watch. Usually smaller at every position on the floor, many times we will have 4-5 guards on the floor, but they are gritty, scrappy and don't give up.

West Jessamine's talent is a little down this year. However, their coach will always make them competitive.

Their transfer (PG) has made a difference for them. They'd be hurting without him. They seem to get a steady stream of those from Lexington schools. If I'm not mistaken, Ely (their best player) also transferred from a Lexington school.

The George Rogers Clark High School boys basketball team gave West Jessamine all it could handle before dropping a 44-43 setback Monday in the semifinals of the Berea Invitational Tournament.

Clark (7-3), which had a five-game winning streak snapped, will play Harlan County at 6:30 today in the third-place game. The Colts (9-3) advance to the championship game set for 8 p.m.

Despite a slow start, Clark led 25-22 at the half, but the Colts grabbed the lead for good after outscoring Clark 15-6 in the third quarter. The Cards produced a rally in the fourth quarter but couldn’t get over the proverbial hump.

Damion King led the Cards with 21 points, making 10 of 19 shots from the field. King was the lone Clark player to produce double figures. Overall, Clark shot just 37 percent from the field, while West Jessamine made 40 percent of its shots.

West Jessamine guard Brooks Ely led the Colts with 23 points, followed by David McCorvey with 11.
