The Indians travel to Lexington Henry Clay and pull out a big win over #3 ranked Lexington Lafayette. Great game by both teams.

Lafayette is going to struggle this year

Holy Cross still playing without starting center Cessie Mayhaus. ... Jumped out to a nice lead early with Turner hitting some threes, but fouls put Turner and Ally Mayhaus on the bench for the second quarter. Hassert (who had to guard Ashanti Thomas with Mayhaus on the bench) sat out the last half of the second quarter as well, so Lafayette crept back and took the lead early in the third. Down the stretch, tho, Holy Cross just had too many different players stepping up and making plays. From the HC side: Turner 19 (11 in the opening minutes of the game), McClendon 8, Tucker 8, A Mayhaus 11, Hassert 4, Beal 2, I believe. Thomas is a real warrior, I'll tell you that.

HC was my pre season pick to win the 9th. No surprise here.

Holy Cross 52, Lafayette 44

Holy Cross (2-0) - Hassert 2 0 4, Mayhaus 5 0 11, McClendon 2 4 8, Tucker 2 3 8, Turner 6 3 19, Beal 1 0 2. Totals: 18 10 52.

Lafayette(1-1) - Givens 5 4 15, Pankins 0 3 3, Conwell 1 0 2, Thomas 8 1 17, Powell 1 5 7. Totals: 15 13 44.

Halftime score: HC 25-22. 3-pointers: H 6 (Turner 4, Tucker, Mayhaus); L 1 (Givens).

Big win for HC on the road! This team is looking really good even without there starting center! Congrats on the win Indians!

Surprised by the slow start by the Lady Generals, but I think that Denton will get her team focused & settle down for the long haul in the 43rd & 11th.

Do u think? I dont think she will
