I figure lets generate some discussion on this tourny considering its starting tomorrow. Obviously Lex Cath comes in as the overwhelming favorite as seen just by the Sweet 16 contest. Still, I believe in the theory suprises happen, its why we gotta play the games. I think Mercy (LC's) first round opponent and Clay Co. offer the greatest challenge for the Lady Knights. Lex Catholic may be very difficult to beat but they are still beatable and if either team plays tough against them, the Lady Knights could struggle. Has anyone heard if Stevenson's season was over after the injury at Scott Co.? If so, Lex Cath is w/o a true replacement for Sickles.

 

I wanna hear some banter here, what players do people think will come up big this week in all the games? What team might have a Cinderella run? What matchups look to yield the best game? Who is gonna be the star of this tourny? And even who will win?

The first round has some outstanding match-ups. The first game of the tournament will be a great game IMO. I have seen both Mercy and Lex. Cath. play and if Mercy can make some shots, they actually have a realistic chance of beating LC.

Thursday's match-ups between Boone Co/Montgomery Co. and Iroqouis/Clay Co. should be good ones as well. Boone is winning with some young players, so it will be interesting to see how they handle the state tournament stage. Iroqouis is a team that is being over-looked. They have a lot of talent and will give Clay Co. all they can handle.

I'll be down Thursday afternoon to watch! Anybody else going?

Bottom bracket should have some very good games with several of the teams being able to make it to Sat morning. The Boone/Montgomery Co and Iroquois/Clay Co game should be very good.

 

Mercy in the first game might be the only team that can truly challenge Lex Cath in the top bracket. LC beat them 66-62 in December.

 

LC holds a 30 point victory over Rose Hill, a 15-point victory over Iroquois, a 43-point victory over Etown.
