I believe NCC plays Dixie on Tuesday night. While I believe NCC should be the prohibitive favorite it will be interesting to see Dixie in the post BH era. This could/should be the year NCC gets out of the region. I don't believe the football players the team will get in a couple weeks are difference makers but certainly add to the bench strength. That's not to say they can't contribute but it is to say NCC has been fortunate the past few years with having the majority of its key players start practice with the team in October.

Having all key players present from the beginning is a tremendous help in getting everyone on the same page and working together. Dixie will be missing 2 starters for this game with NCC, so I'm hoping they can at least keep the score respectable.

December 9th...Wayne County @ Lincoln County

December 12th...Wayne County @ Southwestern

 

These two early games will give us an idea of how three of what I consider the top four teams in the region will match up. Wayne County returns their "big three", but lost their best defensive player (also their glue guy) and two key subs. Lincoln County returns their two best players and will host the region come March. Southwestern lost their best all-around player but returns everyone else including plus some additions. Unfortunately for us fans Boyle County doesn't play any of these three until January.

 

The 12th Region will be a war all season long and I'm not sure we'll have a firm idea if there will be a prohibitive favorite when we enter post-season play. The 12th is S-T-R-O-N-G this year and has a surplus of outstanding players. It will be exciting!
