Do we know if they are going to show what the crazies are going to do!?

 

I know what they are going to receive and I only hope they will get to do something, but when and if it will be shown or broadcasted I don't know, but only hope so......

 

If they don't announce it on the Internet or show it on the ICN 6 telecast I will post what they won.......

 

I surely hope that either the Ky Post or Ky Enquirer are at least covering it and say something about it in the papers on Sunday or Monday.....

While they said nothing about the award given to CovCath on the televised broadcast, they did mention it on the Internet Broadcast at the end of the game.

The Colonel Crazies of

CovingtonCatholicHigh School were given a very special award from the KHSAA tonight. This special award that the KHSAA has given to the CovCath Crazies couldn’t go to a better school, or to a more deserving group of young men who exhibited the true meaning of “With a spirit that will not Die” As a graduate of CovCath, I can only say well done men, well done…..Thank you for making us proud..

So now besides all the Sport Trophies that line the entrance to the gym, and along with that famous Shoe Trophy, we now will have an award that the KHSAA has been given to the Colonels Crazies. Now whenever you go to the sweet sixteen be it next year, or 39 years from now, like I did 39 years ago, your children and or your children’s children’s will see the name of CovCath Crazies under the Special Honors Column. Hopefully the local papers or newscast will say something about it….

The award that was given to the CovCath Crazies was "The First Corbin Sportsmanship Award". This Award is given to a participant in the Tournament, who best exemplifies the spirit of sportmenship and fair play throughout the event.....Good job Crazies.....

This is just a crazy idea but it would be great. I think they should come up with an award called the CovCath Spirit Award and every year they should give this award to the school in the tourny who shows the most school spirit and has the best cheers all week. This would be a great way to promote school spirit while at the same time honor this beloved student section of CovCath.

You would have to find a sponsor willing to foot the cost of the award and then get the KHSAA to approve it. I would doubt very much that the KHSAA would call it the "CovCath Spirit Award" but maybe the "Student Section Spirit Award". Also, I don't know how "KAPOS" (Cheerleaders Assn) would take it, as you are steeping into their area.

 

The largest honor and most flattering to me at least that the CovCath Crazies received, was from the "KAPOS" Commissioner. For her to even mention CovCath was something special and very nice of them to do, since CovCath doesn't even have Cheerleaders. Sort of like a company like Ford admitting that Toyota makes the best cars, you rarely if ever see it happen, but when it does, it really means something special......
