Wayne County Fans: What Will I See Friday Night Against E'town?

Featured Replies

It's hard to figure out your team, but I do NOT mean that in a negative fashion.

What I mean is, it doesn't appear to an outsider that Wayne County has an offensive identity.

I know about last year's run, and I thought I'd see more of the pass-happy, spread-you-out attack Friday when the Cardinals come to E'town.

Based on some video I've watched and stats I've scoured, it appears Wayne has decided to go to a run-first, pass-second attack.

If I'm completely off base here, I do apologize. I mean no ill will.

I guess to sum it up: What gives?

It may be because they start a freshman QB.

Not a Wayne Co fan but from what I have seen of them:

- A team that is 2 years away from being really good. A lot of youth, namely a talented Freshman QB.

- A team missing playmakers and overall team speed. Tough kids who are well coached and do most fundamental things right, but noone who can bust a big play or change a game with athleticism.

- Not an especially big team up front.

That's them, but leave them in a game late and you're in trouble. One thing they have learned from the class that took them to the state title is competing.

Etown has to be the favorite but wayne is just tough enough to make noise.

No way I would bet in this game. Etown has to be the favorite but wayne is just tough enough to make noise.

Amen. If I were Elizabethtown, I'd keep my foot on the gas early and often. The longer Wayne stays in the ballgame, the better their chances of winning. As ATL said, Wayne is a year away, but they played much better ball late in the season.
