Belfry 34 Lawrence County 19

Featured Replies

Final.

I told everyone to keep an eye on this one. There was a reason.

Belfry walks a M.A.S.H. unit into a hostile environment and absolutely implodes in the 1st Half. Pirates though rely on their defense and Ray Horton and Co. deliver. Horton with 4 sacks 5 TFL's, including 3 huge sacks in the 4th Quarter.

FB Austin Hatfield and Soph QB Noah Corbett get the job done when Belfry was not committing penalties.

Belfry finishes with 400 Total Yards..if you are a fan of even number they had 300 rushing, 100 Passing on the nose. Sophomore Noah Corbett was 3/3 and added over 60 rushing yards. After an absolute stinker of a 1st Half Belfry was the Walking Dead and Corbett threw a 50 yard pass after scrambling and breaking tackles to set up the tying TD on a 55 yard drive in under :30.Complete momentum shifter.

Belfry turned it over 3 times in their own territory.. on all 3 turnovers LC scored on the very next play. Pirates hold a LC offense that was one of the most prolific rushing attacks in the state to under 20 yards.

It was ugly as sin, but despite the injuries, penalties, turnovers, and timing issues Belfry advances and essentially wrap up the District Title and homefield advantage
