I just had a thought that this may cause a problem in tourney preparation since they usually have many many items that have all the teams that made the sweet 16's name on them such as shirts, programs, etc.

I heard it had to do with an issue over officials. Evidently someone got scratched by a coach and somehow it affect who would call the finals. I heard their were people fightiing and everything.
