Actually for Highlands, I believe the "parity" has humbled the program. I say this because this yrs team is a very mediocre team and anything they win they have earned this yr.

 

This is not a team of superstars and 3-4 star recruits but a bunch of kids that still sting from last yrs loss to Collins. They know they have alot of work still left to do and take care of and I can assure they will not take anyone for granted the rest of the way out and that includes everyone especially CovCath. :thumb:

 

This Highlands team is beginning to roll with a whole bunch of confidence and despite the scores, margins of victories, head to head scores of common opponents, Highlands will earn everything this yr and that would include a return trip to WKU in Dec.

 

I will be nice, for the "non-Highlands fan base", I hope the Birds return to WKU and I hope they play Owensboro as it sounds as if they are a better fit and opponent for Highlands this yr. I believe that until Collins is eliminated they still have something to say about who will be in WKU in Dec.

So PP has made an excellent post explaining why he believes it is parity and that 2A is stronger which is what is throwing things out of whack for 4A.... and though he didn't say it his comments about LexCath would insinuate that 6A on the whole is stronger as well. Very well thought and explained.

 

Now if we accept that is fact what does it say about 3A and 5A?

 

Does Pulaski's close win against North Laurel when they are clearly the 2nd best team insinuate parity? Does North Laurel and Southwestern's performances against 3A teams then insinuate the class is down?

 

Does Belfry's dominating wins over Southwestern (with Doan) and Henry Clay (who has proven themselves in the same category as Lafayette and Bryan Station) put them on par with the elite upper crust teams in 4A and 5A? If so what does that say when they lost to 1A Pikeville?

I think 6A is as strong as it has been in quite some time. The Super District is nuts this year. Scott County is still strong and the Lexington teams have taken the King of Lexington crown from LexCath and are still fighting for that crown now. The 6A this year is what we should expect from 6A. There are at least 5 teams that can win 6A and I don't think anyone would be surprised.

 

I think 5A is down especially after seeing Pulaski County squeak by North Laurel. I expect another BG title with the only teams coming close to beating them being Warren Central and John Hardin. Other than BG I don't think any 5A teams have any quality wins against top teams from other classes. DeSales is probably the second best team in 5A.

 

I don't know enough about 3A to make an informed opinion on them. I know Belfry defeated Henry Clay and Henry Clay is proving to be respectable. I'm not sure anyone in 3A will defeat Belfry in 3A but again I truly don't know much about 3A after Belfry, Bell County and Central.
