jcarter Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Weather was bad tonight strong wind. One direction of you threw or passed it went long when it was to your back. If it was to your face you didn't have a prayer. Rain and mud effected game as well. One end of field is a mess other end looks like no one played.
WeagleWeagle Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Was the weather that much of a factor In that game or is Daviess a little more than they thought?
jcarter Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Weather was a factor South missed an extra point kicking into the wind. That usually doesn't happen. But DC passing game was a little better than they expected. South had some problems with fumbles because of wet balls. DC had same problems but what's funny it seemed like there fumbles always bounced back to them. It's really hard for me to say when it rained most of the night with a strong wind blowing. Example of wind DC punted with wind to their backs and it went about 60 yards net from line of scrimmage. Next quarter wind to their face and it netted 3 yards. I will say if it hadn't rained it would have been interesting to see DC hurry up passing attack. They still tried to throw with wind and rain and it was hard to really get a handle on either teams ability.
ATLCat Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Daviess County beat South Warren last year right? It just seems to be Daviess is one of those teams who know how to play SW tough. If I am Coach Rogers at Paducah Tilghman I am calling Coach Kimbell up and meeting him in Owensboro for a big steak dinner, an expensive bottle of wine, and the best dessert in town. Try to find out what it is he sees.
wkufan1 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Daviess was definitely hampered by the wind, South had many fumbles and miss handled snaps that went right back to them. I'd say South would have a tough time stopping a good passing attack on a normal weather night. Luckily for them everyone runs the ball on their schedule. South line is very physical and gets after it, backs are good runners and QB is a tough runner too. DC has some quality skill players, a future stud QB who as a sophomore had a ton of pocket presence. DC defense was better than advertised. Wish both teams good luck, both have important District games.
WeagleWeagle Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Weather says rain most of this week and probably Friday...what does that mean for south going into Friday night? Are they in any spot to lose any this year?

South missed two scoring opportunities by going on it on forth down rather than attempting the field goal because they would have been kicking into the wind. One of those was on 4th and goal from the 1 and on the end that is messed up from rain and mud. I think you may be right the game plan DC had was different than any other team they tried to throw more than anyone else.

In the past Adair's field has been worn down and if it is that way this year we could have a mud bowl again. Not sure how this game this week is going to play out if it rains.
