Lawnboy13 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Tonight up on the "hill", NewCath takes the Annual Hits For Chicks Breast Cancer Awareness match in 4 sets. NewCath took games 1, 3, & 4, while the 'Stangs came back from a 22-15 deficit to beat the Breds in game 2. Game 1 NewCath 25-19 Game 2 Brossart 25-23 Game 3 NewCath 25-11 Game 4 Newcath 25-21 A very nice crowd was on hand for county bragging rights between these two "fish-eating" rivals, as the bleachers on the other side of the gym had to be pulled out to accommodate the crowd. I enjoyed seeing the Brossart student section in action, as they were giving ALL the NewCath servers "the business" when they were down at their end of the floor, however it was all in good fun and the NewCath coaches and parents had ZERO PROBLEM with it. A “Memory Wall”, was erected to remember loved ones who lost their battle with Breast Cancer. Breast Cancer Survivors were recognized with a special “Survivor” t-shirt and were introduced between matches. Over 20 raffles and a bake sale were part of the event and ALL proceeds, including the gate, were donated to Chicks & Chucks, Inc. A big thanks goes out to 3 Major sponsors of this event, Barleycorns, Omega Processing, & Vennefron Signs.
Baller99 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Crowd was great and it was a good night to celebrate some amazing women. It was also fun to catch up with LB for a few minutes. Both teams played hard for some exciting Volleyball. BBHS played great defense and pass REALLY well but in the end NCC just had more firepower. They have some very good hitters that know what to do with a good set. BBHS students section were great and added a lot to the festivities and no moms got upset at having some fun. Thanks to all who put this together it was worth the long night.

Congrats to both coaching staffs, parents, & players for putting on a great event for a great cause. Also, kudos to the Officials.
polarbear98 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I was at. Volleyball game tonight in Bracken and we had a decent student turnout for a volleyball game. Had a ref during the JV game tell our kids to quiet down during the serves. I was sitting behind the kids and all I heared was was the same oooooooooo that you would hear at any respectable bball game. One girl even used her ear piercing scream which IMO may have been over the top but :idunno: But after the ref told them to be quiet during serves out varsity coach addressed the kids and asked them not to do it anymore because they wasn't really supposed to be doing that. I didn't think there was a rule against it but I've seen all he post about BBHS and was wondering if I am wrong on he rules.

I don't think there is a specific rule on yelling, but if the Officials deem it "unsportsmanlike" something can be done. This is subject to interpretation by officials. If an official thinks it's too much, they will invoke that clause. But the point of "too much" is going to vary. The bottom line is you can make noise, as long as it's clean and not out of control in the officials' eyes.
