addout Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Corbin 15 15 11 10=51 North 15 8 10 13=46 North Laurel made a run at Corbin in the forth quarter. During that run Mikki Rogers went down on a drive to the basket. It looks like she broke her leg. We will have to wait till we hear from her family, but it didn't look good when she went down or when she was taken from the gym. I really hate to see something like this happen she is a great kid and ballplayer and she will be badly missed by her team mates
gooseman Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Addout Im sure you did not enjoy this game too much..I previously posted that North had improved and they showed that against you all tonight, If the officals had not made so many bad calls in the 1st half, North would have came away with a HUGE upset. I think it was Corbin 2 fouls to Norths 10 fouls at half. The game was even closer than the score says Corbin was only up 1 with 35 seconds in the game... Whats the word on Rogers? My prayers are with her shes a great ball player..
Les Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Just been told it's a dislocated ankle. Prayers go out to the family.
Jim Schue Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Big credit to Heather Clouse for the huge play she made, backtipping the ball away from Caitie Jackson as Jackson was driving to the hole in the closing seconds with a chance to give North the lead. Clouse and Brittany Jackson made several big defensive plays to help their team stave off the upset. I was saying before that I thought NL would contend for a region title in two years, but I'm amending that to say they will contend next year and win in two years.
gooseman Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 North did a great job. So with a dislocated ankle what can they do for it? I hope sure she can play, is it certain she will not beable to play? My prayers are with her. Rogers is a great ball player.

My prayers are with her. Rogers is a great ball player. If I remember correctly from when a buddy had this happen, they would have to reset it similar to how you would reset a break. It actually is kind of worse than a break, because it's more like an extreme sprain. I can't imagine there's any way she could play Saturday. Les, can I get a confirmation?
Les Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 We were told that she is done for the season. That I do know. We got a phone call not too long ago.
statmanhensley Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I'm sorry to hear this for the Redhound faithful, the Rodgers family and more importantly Mikkah herself. Thoughts and prayers will be sent their way from Northern Kentucky. What grade would she hppen to be in?
statmanhensley Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I also wanted to say that North Laurel has nothing to hang their heads about. Many people, including myself, didn't give them a chance in this game. Jim Shue I also agree that with the youth movement they've been going with over the last couple years will payoff possibly next year but definitely the follwing year.

And good luck Corbin; it's going to be tough to replace her.
4chs Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Sophomore. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Mikkah. And good luck Corbin; it's going to be tough to replace her. It will be impossible to replace her. She is their best defender, a very good ballhandler and the number two scorer and rebounder for the Lady Hounds. Corbin basically only played six players, so depth becomes even more of a problem now. I hope for a speedy recovery for Mikkah, maybe she can come back in time to at least play some of her sophomore softball season.
play2 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 A game effort by North comes up short. You hate to see any kid get hurt. Best wishes to Rogers and hope for a quick recovery. She plays as hard as any player in the region. Bad break for the Lady Hounds.
Jim Schue Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Also injured in the game was North junior forward Bobbie Jo Harris, who went out early in the second quarter with a knee injury. Hope she gets better soon.

Hope she gets better soon. Hopefully it was not a bad injury. North Laurel played a very good game, their shooting and hustle kept them in the game, while their turnovers prevented them from being able to get the win. They will be a top 5 team in the region next year.

Apparently she re-aggravated it. A strain, from what I was told.
