September 8, 201412 yr I am beginning to believe that the Giants can take the NL if they can keep playing some good ball and not get stuck on October being next month.

September 8, 201412 yr Author As badly as I hate to say it, I think Oakland is going to be in the wild card game barring a late surge by them and a late collapse by the Angels. Having to throw Lester in a one and done then turn around and start a series with the Angels is going to be a tough road to travel. The Angels losing Garrett Richards to a knee injury is going to hurt, but I don't think it's been felt yet like it will be in the playoffs.

Can't wait. With the Dodgers currently having the best record in the NL, I believe the current matchups would be Dodgers vs. wild card and Nationals hosting the Cardinals. Who knows which way it will actually end up.

With the Dodgers currently having the best record in the NL, I believe the current matchups would be Dodgers vs. wild card and Nationals hosting the Cardinals. Who knows which way it will actually end up. Definitely, but with the Giants only 3 games back and 6 or so games left between the two, I think there'll be some fireworks between them. Agree with your point about the remainder of the Dodgers' opponents though.
September 8, 201412 yr Yep, it feels like the Dodgers are sorta hanging on. If the Giants can put some more pressure on them the Giants could definitely still win that division.
September 9, 201412 yr Author Yep, it feels like the Dodgers are sorta hanging on. If the Giants can put some more pressure on them the Giants could definitely still win that division. Yea. Still, I think the Dodgers have the better staff, team, and all that.
September 9, 201412 yr ...... Joker, your A's better figure out the back of the bullpen and quick. Two nights in a row they go to the 9th with a lead...and lose.
September 9, 201412 yr Author ...... Joker, your A's better figure out the back of the bullpen and quick. Two nights in a row they go to the 9th with a lead...and lose. Tell me about it. Their losing streak is starting to get downright concerning. If they miss the playoffs this season, it's going to be a monumental collapse, and right now they're only up 2.5 games in the Wild Card.

I love the Samardizjia trade and the Lester trade, and I think Dunn adds some of what Cespedes took with him, but to not address the back of the bully seems bizarre at this point. They are literally giving away games where the offense has given them a lead and the starting pitching has held the other team in check.
