Newport Central Catholic 2 St. Henry 0 (Boys)

Agreed, NCC is very beatable and has a lot of work to do before the region. I believe the biggest difference between StH and NCC is the level of teamwork / respect, not skill level. StH became very frustrated with several players openly displaying their displeasure for each other and tried to turn it into a physical game. A sign of a young team and hopefully they'll get over it soon as they have the makings of a good team.

Tex, I agree with your sentiments. St. Henry is not playing as a team at present. They don't seem to trust that their teammate is going to do his job and pull themselves out of position. They aren't on the same page with one another right now. Hopefully it all gets pulled together soon, but they aren't a young team as they have a large Senior class at the Varsity level.

I agree, they are openly bickering with each other on the field, and venting their frustration with their team mates for all to see. It was clearly visible last night and it reflects badly on the St. Henry soccer program. The coach needs to step in and take control of the situation. Maybe bench a couple of players to get his point across.

Some meaningless data for what it's worth - NCC has beaten St. Henry the last 3 times they met with a goal differential of 9 - 2.

Yes, but from looking at NCC the last couple of nights, they are not the strong team they once were. I feel if St. Henry played as a team, they'd have beaten them.

Sounds as if St H just needs a "get healthy" game....who is next on the schedule?.....oh yea....just might do it.

And, "if ifs and buts were candy and nuts ever day would be Christmas".

The boys at NCC believe and get it done blue collar style. "Work hard, bang hard".

Both of these teams are going to be just fine this season. It is very early yet.

I don't understand why the "All A" is played so early in the season. I don't think the next rounds are played until late in September.
