Trailing 13-6 early in the fourth quarter, Walton’s offense finally came alive after sputtering for three quarters, mostly due to penalties.

 

A 26-yard pass from Josh White to Sam Letton put the Raiders in scoring range at the Comets’ 19 before Brooks carried the ball three consecutive times for 19 yards, and finished the drive with a 5-yard run to tie the game.

White completed 10 of 13 passes for 196 yards, while Letton led Walton with 73 receiving yards.

Sam will become an even bigger recruit if he keeps up his high level of play against big school Georgia competition. Hope he decides to come home to UK.

Wow, just looked at his schedule. They should win 6 of the first 7 easily. The last 3 are going to be brutal. Milton, Cherokee and Etowah are really strong programs this year.

Sam also had a 34 yard touchdown catch

“Through four games with the Raiders, Letton has 22 catches for 358 yards and four touchdowns. He entered the weekend as the leading receiver in Cobb County.

He doesn’t just make catches,” Dixon said. “He makes circus catches. He knows how to get leverage on defensive backs, and he’s also physical. We’re put him at No. 2 receiver and at No. 1 receiver spot too. We have got to do a better job finding ways to get him the ball.”

Sam had 4 touchdown catches in their last game. He had another in Walton's previous game. Very impressive that Sam's production has increased after moving from what's considered a middling football state to what's considered a top 5 football state. I'd say UK is the big favorite to land him.

 

Unfortunately from the team aspect Walton had to forfeit all of their wins but 1 after playing an ineligible player. The violation was self-reported and apparently unintentional. The Raiders probably won't make the playoffs now since they dropped from 4-2 to 1-5. He is going to get some heavy recruiting interest.

 

D-1 Coaches know all about Walton and keep close eyes and relationships there. Have a feeling Letton will be getting some major offers.

Sam's season ended as Walton failed to make the playoffs, their season was derailed by the forfeited games and an injury to their QB Josh White (2016 with a Miss St offer).

 

Sam made a big impact leading the team in receptions, yards (651) and TDs (10) in only 10 games. No one else on Walton had more than 259 rec yards and only one other player had a touchdown catch.

I love seeing this. I've always felt you could drop a lot of KY players in other states and they would do just fine. Good luck to the young man.
