Well with that said, I would say that I don't know Deja other than a few times talking to her and seeing her play. And my opinion of her is good. She's been nothing but a nice polite kid and seems to be a competitor on the court, but typically handles herself very well. So things I say really aren't reflective of what I think about her as a player and a young lady.

 

As far as her support system...another story. I just don't agree with the decisions that were made with her HS career and the lessons and messages it sends to a young lady and others. To each their own and it's really none of my business. But it definitely stirs up conversation and conflicts with the norm. People tend to want to understand better and question things when people go against the grain.

What do you think are the odds that she will actually finish her career at Wright State without transferring.

 

Amazes me that people like you thinks it's a good idea to say things like this about a highschool girl! Who cares if she finishes her career at wright state be happy she's going to a great known school from our area and bringing attention to this areas other talent! As for Deja transferring she went to HC left for Holmes while her father was working in the school (I can name multiple kids that go to a school because of there parents working there) and then decided she wanted to return back to HC nothing to hold against her an as for her parents there fighting to defend there daughter wouldn't you do the same for yours?

But I do agree with you and wish her all the luck at Wright State. I really do. I hope she has a great senior year (except against HHS) and terrific college experience. I love to see any player from this area succeed.

 

I kinda just wish they would have let her be and played it at one place. Again, none of my business. But really nothing on BGP is. At the time of the transfer, Holmes was on a down swing with not a lot of talent in the reservoir. But a couple transfers and a new coach later, they are pretty darn good! It may be ironic if Holmes ends up being the team that knocks out HC. Hmmmmm...then what?

First, yes. I blame kids for jumping back and forth for high school sports. That's silly. You don't get recruited for what you do in high school. So what's the point?

 

Second. I would challenge both of the "best fit" and the "best team" Guess we'll find out in march.

Deja is a good player. NEVER going to get paid to play basketball. So is it really such a big deal that she has to try and "land" on (what you call) the best HS team in the 9th region?? Are you admitting that she jumped schools for bball??? I sure hope not because that is pathetic if true.

And I'm not sure why you think it would be so far fetched for Holmes to beat HC. HC beat Holmes 36-34 last year in their only meeting. Holmes was very young. So they are a year older and stronger. And they have added a player that voted a top 25 in the state and another from Cincy that feel could be the best player in the region...yes, even better than turner. I'm not positive turner is the best player on her own team at this point. So knowing the outcome of last years game, knowing that neither team really lost much, HC added one good player and Holmes added two and one that is supposed to be very good, can you tell me why it's far-fetched to think that Holmes can't play with HC. HHS beat HC last year too and lost no one. And that was shooting 2-23 from 3 land. HC will be good, but by no means unbeatable in the ninth. I'll keep my prediction for them off here. But I just don't see it being a "match made in heaven" like some do. For many reasons!

Taking shots? Not sure what you mean. If you mean stating my opinion on whether HC will gel, whether Holmes can beat HC or whether déjà is the best player on HC...well those are very fair questions and I would bet many share the same thoughts. Might all be hard to swollow, but a fair opinions. I'll use a quote that I heard today from the late Joan Rivers. She said "I made a living off of saying things that everybody else was thinking!"

 

And if you look back at any of my posts about Déjà, I don't think you'll find negativity against her. I don't feel it's her.
