Estill County finished 2014 26-15 winners of the 56th district and 14th region tournaments. Estill County is losing two of their starters in Michaela Gross (pitcher) and Cheyenne Rawlins (INF) but return everyone else and will have an outstanding middle school class coming in that went 24-4 this season losing in the conference semi-finals to Foley and won 3 regular season tournaments.

 

Estill County doesn't rebuild, they reload when it comes to softball.

 

As far as the schedule goes, I'm assuming the following teams will be on it; Lexington Catholic, Paul Dunbar, Madison Central, Madison Southern, Montgomery County, South Laurel, Garrard County, Model, East Jessamine.

 

Powell County, Lee County, Owsley County will be on it. Woodford County, Mercer county, Rowan County, Harrison County, Western Hills, East Ridge, Berea were on it last season, not sure if they'll be on it this coming season or not. Estill County had picked up Bourbon County at the end of April last season but was canceled due to the weather so I'm not sure if Bourbon County will be on Estill's schedule or not.

All State, GREAT job promoting the Lady Engineers, the future looks bright.

South Laurel is the last Friday of the regular season in May. It will be at South Laurel on May 15th I think. I think Harrrison County is on it for May 17th and pretty sure Woodford County will be on it and possibly Boyle County as well

All State, I notice that Estill doesn't play any 14th region teams other than the ones in their district. Is that because of distance? They tend to play mostly Bluegrass area schools.

I would think they would play Jenkins, Perry Central, maybe Letcher Central, teams that have been fairly competive in the region. Just to be a little more familiar with them in case that's who they have to play in the regional tournament. Jenkins has made it to the region championship game a few times, winning it once.

Perry Central tried scheduling Estill last season but Estill's schedule was full. I'm not sure why they don't play Jenkins and Letcher unless it's distance but Estill did go to East Ridge last season.

 

Estill may try and play PCC this year since the regional tournament is there.

Not sure but I think the April 24th game @ Lex Cath maybe part of their turf tournament, that they held last year around the same date.

Lexington Catholic is just a home and home this season. Also, Estill County will be hosting two triangles, March 28th with Boyle County and Rowan County and on April 25th with East Ridge and Jackson County.

 

Estill is also going to Bourbon County on March 31st

 

 

Estill is also expected to participate in the Bart Rison Derby Classic over at Montgomery County
