* Monday: Central (4-15) at Male (21-13), 1 p.m.; Ballard (23-9) at Trinity (16-15), 11 a.m.; Atherton (17-17) at Manual (17-12)(Derby City Field), 11 a.m.; St. Xavier (23-10) at Eastern (29-6), 11 a.m.

 

* Tuesday at U of L: Central-Male winner vs. Ballard-Trinity winner, 5 p.m.; Atherton-Manual winner vs. St. Xavier-Eastern winner, 7:15 p.m.

 

* Thursday at U of L: Final, 5:30 p.m.

They defeated 1-13 Shawnee 13-2 in the district semifinals. They are in a 3 team district with Manual being the 3rd team.

Which I do not believe is that fair. Not trying to be biased here.

 

CAL was 20-11 this year with wins over some really good teams, but were in the 28th district with three top 10 teams (Ballard, CAL, Eastern) (according to PBR). They lose to Ballard 8-4 on Monday, but there is a team like Central (who is 4-15) only has to beat Shawnee. It is the way the district and region is used but it is kind of stupid sometimes.

CAL certainly had a good team this year and definitely deserve to be in the regional tournament. It isn't really fair that Central gets to make the tournament over CAL (who would make a great matchup with Male) but I guess there isn't really anything that can be done about it. CAL seems to be in this situation in most sports, they are just stuck in a really tough district.
