You are absolutely correct. Your post reminded me of how liberals made Bush's drinking and alleged drug use before he entered politics such a big issue during his campaigns but then dismissed Obama's confirmed drug use as a non-issue during his campaigns. There were no reports of Bush falling off the wagon during his presidency that I recall.

My point is who cares about their 'vacation' days? They never get a true vacation while serving in the office. Have you ever been elected a president of anything? I have and trust me, even a president of a local union does not get to fully enjoy a true 'vacation' without conducting business at some point. Hell, I was in Cozumel and turned on my wifi for 5 minutes to iMessage my kids and my phone blew up from people trying to get a hold of me. The POTUS can be reached anywhere in the world at anytime. I do not care about their vacation days and anytime they can steal away for some peace and quiet is A-OKAY with me. Those fellas deserve it. I don't care how crappy of a job people may think they do. Everyone deserves some peace and quiet at some point. Bush was the serving president at the time of 9/11. If he needed a little extra time to himself, so be it. Same goes for Obama. And whoever the next president may be.

 

 

At the same time, I can admit that Obama has done a less than stellar job. Can you admit that Bush did a less than stellar job also and that our country likely will not be fixed for another decade or so and that our downfall began while Bush was president or would that still be "blaming Bush for Obama's failures"? Won't the next president get to blame Obama for his/her failures? Would that president be correct?

 

I believe our country turned for the worse during the Bush years due to a democrat majority in both the senate and congress. It got even worse during Obama's first term as now we had both plus a democrat (socialist) President. The negative trend has eased a bit during Obama's second term as the democrats no longer rule both houses. However, nothing is getting done. I have no party affiliation, so I am not a Republican, but I am farther away from being a Democrat in terms of how I believe the government should interact with our citizens.
