Heard through the grapevine that Coach Green will not be back at Owsley County next season. If true, does Owsley stay in the school system or go outside?

 

Owsley County as well as the other three schools in the 56th district will be young next season.

I'm gonna throw a couple names out there.

 

1. Charles Davidson (Owsley County Girls HC) works for the school system and has coached the Owsley County boys several years back before stepping down, only a year or so later to come back and be the coach over the Owsley girls team.

 

2. Brian Hall, former Powell County coach. Has won the 56th district 2 of the past 3 years.

Right now I'd say Tyson Gross would be the front runner. Played there, has previous head coaching experience with the Hazard girls and was an assistant this season to Coach Green.

I think Tyson is in some type of medical school right now. I'm not sure he would leave that to get back into coaching.

I don't think Coach Green has officially resigned as coach yet, but that is the rumor going around, that he may do just that. Nothing's been posted about an opening to my knowledge. I believe a summer practice and camp schedule is being worked on by the staff.

Noah Noble has been named as Owsley County boys basketball coach for next season. He was the JV coach last year and already works in the school system.

Smart move by the Owls. I think he will do a good job.
