Yes it is different using the bait the barrel tactics and I can't identify with the bolded above since I've never utilized those setups. The majority of the deer I've harvested have been with a bow that shoots at far less than 300 feet per second, and with arrows that are aluminum. Less than 20 yards away.

Feel free to use a car or smoke a cig while dropping a deer at 400 yards with the sniper equipment. We shouldn't be relegated to distances or means of harvesting. Populations suffer if hunters don't harvest deer. Shut the grocery doors and watch what happens. I simply hold folks in higher regard when they've worked harder to become a part of the woods since I can identify with the reward of more time, effort, and practice to honor the animal they are harvesting and pass that legacy onto the next generation!

No matter how hard you think your way is there's always someone doing it tougher. Long bow, wooden arrows, no stand, spot and stalk, ect... As long as you're legal who gives a flip. Even if I wouldn't do it im not going to think and less of someone for hunting over bait, or using dogs, or a rifle, ect... Maybe that's just me.
