What region has the hardest / easiest road to the finals?

Assuming there are not any major upsets...this is who I see has the hardest and easiest draws in the Sweet 16.

Looking at the pairings, Region 2 and Region 7 both got a terrible draw. Hopkinsville comes out of the 2nd, they have a decent challenge from Region 8, but in the second round, they will have to play Ballard most likely, and if they win that, they will most likely have to play a strong Region 11 team (Scott County).

Same thing for Ballard or any Region 7 team. They should win the first round, and then have to play Hopkinsville in the second, and region 11 in the semis.

As far as the most favorable draw, that has to go to the 9th region. I don't see any other team than a team out of the 9th making it to the finals. The team that comes out of the 9th will not have to face a top tier team until the finals. The hardest test I am assuming will come from the winner of Knott County/Wayne County game.

That is no cupcake game for any 9th region team. They are both good, if they get there. I don't think Holmes (don't think they are going anyway) beats either. NCC and CCH would probably be favored, but not by more than 4-5 pts, so they could lose to either. It still is an easier draw, though.

Of those 4 regions you listed, only Hoptown is even a pretty sure thing to make it there. the other three regions have favorites Ballard, Scott co. and NCC, but they are not sure things. If Warren Central wins the 4th, it is a team I would not want to play at all. They seem to always peak at tourney time.

Although, I still think Ballard is the best team in the state and if they get by Trinity, I would still pick them. There are several teams that would not surprise me at all if they won it all.

Scott Co.

Lafayette

Trinity

You name the 6th region team, I can't

Hopkinsville

NCC

CCH

KCC

Wayne Co.

There are others, also. This is really wide open if Ballard does not make the tourney.

The only regions that I think would really surprise me if they won it all would be the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 13th, 15th and 16th. The rest have a team or two that can.
