What is everyone's thoughts on the 12th region for this upcoming season? Looks to be highly competitive once again with some of the better players in the state. Here's my opinion of the region

Team to Beat:

Mercer County: 3 time defending champion with 6 starters returning from last season's state runner up squad. Also has probably the deepest pitching rotation with Long, Stoeckinger, and Horn heading it up.

Right there with them:

West Jessamine: Returns 8 starters from last year's team. Strong pitching and defense as usual.

Southwestern: Lost Starnes but will still be very competitive.

Teams to Keep an Eye On

Boyle County: Miniard is one of the top pitching prospects in the country and has proven he can beat anyone. Coffey is very good as well. If they develop some more arms they could be very dangerous.

Danville: Don't ever count Danville team out. They return a lot of players and added a highly touted prospect in the state with Devin Harris. If they develop some more pitching they will be fine.

East Jessamine: A whole lot of talent but still has to compete in the 46th district with Mercer and West. This could be the year they get over the hump.

Somerset: You can't every count a Somerset team out with Grundy coaching them.

Wayne County: Very talented team that returns the majority of their starters as well as pitchers from last year.

What do you think about Garrard County this year????

I think they will be very competitive and win several district games. The problem is could they beat Danville or Boyle in the first round of that district. Coach Lynn definitely has the program on the rise though and i say in 2015 is when they finally get out of the district.

I've heard good speculation about Garrard. I think they beat Danville and Boyle once each last season, but they couldn't get the win in the tournament. Mix in a usually decent Lincoln County club and the 45th District could be quite competitive this season.

The 45th should be very good this year. I believe Lincoln has had a very good pitcher move in from Lexington as well. Should be a very interesting Spring in the 45th dist. and the 12th region.

Coach Lynn has done an amazing job heading the new baseball field renovations, and man does it look spectacular! New fence, new backstop, all around great facility now! Garrard should be a very solid team this year!

Garrard is also getting new lights put on baseball field. Supposedly going to be up before first home game. Their field won't even look the same. Coach Lynn is doing a great job there.
