CincySportsFan Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Anybody got any details on this one? I know it's impossible to compare scores, but Grant beats Gallatin by 22 the night before, and Gallatin beats Walton by 21 just two weeks ago. Still, how in the world was this one that close?
Weakside Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Extremely proud of the Bearcats after last nights game. It's been a tough your both Coach Brannen and the boys. Although they have not had the success that they were hoping for this year they have continued to battle each game and have represented themselves well. This was a great basketball game to watch! Both teams hit big shots throughout the entire game. WV lead for 99% of the game - GC took the lead with under a minute to go in regulation and then WV hit a 3 at the buzzer to send the game into OT. The OT session went back and forth as well. GC had the ball up one with under 30 seconds and WV made a huge steal and converted the layup to take a one point lead. A young man from GC then hit two big free throws with 5.8 seconds left in OT to take the lead back by one. WV missed about a 25 footer at the buzzer for the win. Not a fan of losing by no stretch but this was a good high school basketball game to watch. To the young men at WV - keep your heads up. Congrats to GC on the win.

keepinitreal Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Both teams shot the ball very well from beyond the arc!
sportsmaniac Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 It was a great game by both teams. Both teams made winning plays! That is what you like to see.
keepinitreal Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Taulbee and Thompson both played their tails off last night as did all the boys on both teams. Thompson had 3 offensive rebounds in a row to keep Walton alive (as a GC fan yelled he just wants it more) and a big steal and go ahead layup in OT for the lead. Walton couldn't hold on but it was a great game. Also, Cummins back for GC is big and a congrats to him on makeing a successful recovery from ACL surgery in September! Playing this soon is amazing! I know that Mark is proud!
