Knott County Central (19-6): The Patriots showed that they are still the team to beat in the 14th region with a 77-60 win over #2 Perry County Central last week. Upcoming games: vs. Shelby Valley 2/20 2. Perry County Central (19-6): The Commodores went 1-1 last week including a big 14th region matchup with Knott County Central. The Commodores defeated Knox Central 63-60 in an OT thriller. Knott Central, however would get the best of the Commodores to prove that Knott is still #1 and Perry #2. The week doesn’t get any easier for the Commodores. Upcoming games: vs. Jackson County 1/19, @ Cordia 2/21 3. Cordia (21-7): The Lions picked up three wins last week, defeating June Buchanan 63-19, Jenkins 69-42 and a big win over #5 Breathitt County 82-64. Schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Lions. Upcoming games: vs. Perry County Central 2/21 4. Hazard (19-6): The Bulldogs picked up two good wins last week defeating Wolfe County 64-54, a team they beat by 25 earlier in the year and defeated Jackson City 67-37. This week won’t get any easier for Coach Holland’s Bulldogs. Upcoming games: @ Shelby Valley 2/17, vs. Jenkins 2/18, vs. Breathitt County 2/20, @ Powell County 2/21 5. Breathitt County (18-7): The Bobcats got in three games this past week including making a trip to Lexington to take on the Blue Devils of Henry Clay. The week didn’t go as well as the Bobcats had hoped as they lost to Henry Clay 66-56 but bounced back to defeat Powell County 51-40 but lost to Cordia 82-64. This week should be much easier for Breathitt County. Upcoming games: vs. Harlan County 2/17, vs. Owsley County 2/18, @ Hazard 2/20, @ Riverside Christian 2/22 6. Buckhorn (17-7): Buckhorn picked up two nice wins last week ,defeating Oneida Baptist Institute 89-69 and June Buchanan 68-50. Before Buckhorn’s game with OBI, Buckhorn remembered former standout, Scott Blank, who was killed last year in a tragic accident. Upcoming games: @ Letcher County Central 2/18, vs. Jenkins 2/20, vs. Powell County 2/22 7. Estill County (16-9): The Engineers picked up two big wins and captured the #1 seed in the district tournament that takes place in a few weeks at Lee County High School. Engineers defeated Lee County 70-60 behind a 32 point performance by junior guard Trevor Jones. The Engineers defeated the Pirates of Powell County 63-47 behind a 34 point performance by Trevor Jones, to capture the #1 seed for the district tournament. Past two games, Trevor Jones has exploded for 66 points including hitting 7/10 from 3 in the game against Powell County. Upcoming games: @ Menifee County 2/17, @ Harrison County 2/20, vs. Somerset 2/21 8. Wolfe County (13-10): The Wolves got in three games but they didn’t go as well as they’d hoped for, going 1-2 during the week with the only win coming against Owsley County 58-38 and the losses against Hazard 64-54 and Sayre 55-48.The Wolves should have a much easier week this week. Upcoming games: @ Powell County 2/18, vs. Lee County 2/21 9. Letcher County Central (14-11): The Cougars had all of last week off, in fact the Cougars haven’t played since February 4th where they suffered a 67-53 loss to Hazard. The upcoming week should be about the same as it’s been all season for the Cougars. Upcoming games: vs. Buckhorn 2/18, vs. Pike County Central 2/20 (T) 10. Leslie County (12-14): The Eagles got in 3 games last week, going 2-1 with wins over Barbourville 62-60 in an OT thriller and Lee County 93-71. The Eagles loss came to Knox Central 61-41. This week should be much easier for the Eagles and Coach Day as they try to pick up steam before district tournament begins. Upcoming games: vs. Jackson City 2/18, vs. June Buchanan 2/19, @ Owsley County 2/21 (T) 10. Jackson City (11-17): The Tigers went 2-1 last week with wins over OBI 76-70, Riverside Christian 97-64. The only loss coming to Hazard, 67-37. The Tigers will have their hands full this week. Upcoming games: @ Leslie County 2/18, vs. Morgan County 2/21 Jackson City only lost by 3 (52-49) to Leslie County earlier in the year, that’s why they are tied for 10th in the region.

I don't think either team can win the 3 games it takes to claim the regional title, but either could knock one of the big boys out, but the top 4 would have to have a complete letdown to lose. Cordia is probably most subceptible to a loss because they are so unpredictable. The other 3 would be a little tougher.
