Very good game to watch as SK (read Morrison) kept it closer than I would've thought at the beginning.

 

Hatton obviously played well getting his 31 but he could've had more if he could've some of his shots down low. It seemed on a few occasions that he was focused more on drawing contact than finishing. And for the record I am a huge BHatt supporter, just merely an observation from last night's game.

 

Dixie had other players step up in Niehaus, Hedger, Schreck, Bolin (who played well while in the game), and some others.

 

Morrison is a very nice player for SK. He did what he could to keep the Pioneers in the game.

 

Congratulations also to Coach Maxwell (DH's baseball coach) who was honored at halftime for reaching 600 wins this past season.

 

Niehaus played well last night. He tends to have games like that once in a while. He doesn't seem to get the minutes this year that he got last year. I don't think he's a legit "big man", but I think he could play the three. I also don't think Dixie "feeds" the post a lot as a part of the offense. That's not to say they never do, but it doesn't seem to be by design regularly. It's been more of a clean up and defensive position. Atleast not in the games I have attended (5 or 6). Either way, it seems to be working for Chevalier and his Colonels. Personally, I would like to see Hedger and Bolin play together. A little hi-lo or action, or put Hedger in some pick and pop situations.

You could potentially run a lineup of Schreck, Hatton, Niehaus, Hedger, and Bolin at times. That would be a long lineup. Could also be a decent zone defense lineup.

 

Dixie has a lot of kids doing good things at the right. Would love to see them be a legit contender in the 9th with the other top 3. I think they can be.

SK is scrappy, but outside of Morrison there is not a whole lot of talent.

 

Not a lot of talent? Noah Robinson is a nice player, 6'4, good vision, got to the rim with relative ease early in the game, just didn't finish. Not his night. Pracht is also a decent player. You saw late in the game when he got after it, what he could do, especially on defense. SK has talent, they just have to come together as one.
