Explain how that was goaltending? The player clearly swatted at the net while the ball was going in. Correct call from the official.

I've seen the video, IMO it's the right call. It's just like smacking the backboard on a layup when there's no attempt on the play.

This is where I disagree. He was going to block the shot attempt and hit the net before the ball hit the backboard. Plus the ref waited until the shot missed to make the call. It actually looked like interference in person until I saw the video. Doesn't look like it IMO now.

 

That didn't cost Boyle the game though. Too many points in the paint were left on the floor that night. That's why they lost. Held Lincoln to 45 points and couldn't win?

Haha I would agree! In person, yes it did. By the video it's very hard to tell where the balls exact location was at the time the net was hit. However, you're exactly right, if you hold Lincoln to 45 and don't get the win...that's got to be frustrating. Should be a very interesting district tournament.

absolutely the WRONG call!! No way that was goaltending. He accidentally hit the net while the ball was still going up. If u watched the video then it proves that. Wrong call and it was a huge call at a critical time in the game.
