Robertson County outscored the St. Patrick Saints 15-7 in the second quarter to take a 24-16 lead to the lockerroom at halftime and then widened the gap throughout the second half to post a 53-38 victory over the Saints, who had won four of their last six games.

 

With the victory Robertson County punches their ticket to the 10th Region "A" Finals slated for Tuesday night at 8:30pm in Regents Hall on the campus of NKU, where they will face the Brossart Mustangs, who defeated Paris last Wednesday night in the upper bracket semi-finals.

 

Weather is again a concern as the weather man is making dire predictions of snow for Tuesday in Northern Kentukcy.

 

The Black Devils were led by Tyler Burns who scored most of his baskets in transition and from the free-throw line where he and his team hit on 13 of 19 attempts. Darren Edwards scored 16, with 14 of those coming in the first half. Andrew Sticklen was the lone St. Patrick double-figure scorer. The Saints did put 10 players in the scoring column.

 

With the win, the Black Devils improve to 5-8 while the Saints drop to 5-14 on the season.
