Campbell County @ Boone County 1/16 cancelled

I get the safety thing, but come on.

So who determines whether the weather is going to improve, or deteriorate. All three teams played, so there would have been a bus on the road during the worst part of the day. Freshmen game was at 4:30. It seems like an easy call when you have no personal liability, but when you call the county police and they tell you there are numerous accidents, and deteriorating road conditions. Someone has their neck stuck out. They as well have a huge liability resting on their decision.

I was in Florence/Union all day yesterday, from 12:00-2:00 was a little "dicey", by 3:00 every main road was "clear sailing".

Key word you used there is "main" road. Its always a tough call for administrators, but many times main roads may be ok its the side roads that are the problem. Im sure most athletes and fans live on side roads, therefore, making slick road conditions sometimes.

I know we will never see eye to eye on this. All I have to say is this. I have logged over 3,000,000 miles over the road. Some of the worst accidents I've ever seen were caused by icy spots on mostly wet and even dry roads where icy spots develop on overpasses and even large culverts going under the hwy. I have seen many accidents that haunt me to this day, most involving children. Random slick spots are much more dangerous than snow, or even ice covered roads. My children were all three sport athletes. I've been to my fair share of games, and a few where the weather turned bad. It was not a good experience, for anyone.
