Central Hardin coach Mark Perry has resigned as football coach after three seasons. He informed Central Hardin athletic director Chris Bauer of his decision Tuesday night.

 

Perry guided the Bruins to the program’s best season, going 11-2 this year. The Bruins reached the Class 6-A quarterfinals before falling to Meade County. It was the team’s deepest playoff run since 1997 and they won a road playoff game for the first time since the same season.

I below he has already accepted the job at Lexington Catholic. I was thinking he told the Central Hardin team today.

The job will more than likely be posted on Hardin County Schools website tomorrow so applicants may be known soon. They are going to have to find someone quickly.

I'm hoping that Josh Jaggers applies for the job. No clue if he will but I think he'd be a good fit there.

Yeah, he would make a good fit. I think Larue may still have some injury issues and they still have a lot of youth.

That's the truth. Larue is also a Wrestling school and while I am not saying football is or will be top dog at Central Hardin I do feel like CH is a better for for him than Larue.

So far, Football has been one of the top sports this year at Central, other than Boys and Girls Soccer and their Baseball team is usually good.

Soccer should never be posted with football! LOL. With that said, don't forget, Central was a wrestling school for a long time. Kids flock to what is popular..and wrestling has taken a downturn at LC...just is what it is. Jaggers is like a brother to me...he would be OUTSTANDING at CHHS. The fact that he was willing to take the job knowing what was coming says a ton of his character. First class all the way!

Central has a lot of talent coming back from this past years team, I would hate for this to kill their momentum. They are poised to have another playoff run. Hopefully they will be able to get a good coach to provide them with the leadership that they need.

I would hate to see him go, but it wouldn't blow my mind. He has earned the right to do what is best for his family. Larue will be down for another year or two. Proposed 3A is going to be brutal for the LC region. Not saying they can't or won't be successful...but it is what it is. He knew they would be bad...really bad. Chose to stay anyway...says a lot of who he is, but I could see why anyone would at least take a peak at CHHS
