WYMT TV Mountain Classic

Featured Replies

One of my favorite tournaments of the year. Should be streamed online through WYMT-TV. Here's a link. The tournament will be held at Knott County Central this year.

Great showcase that tournament organizers generally select the field by inviting the top two teams from the 13th, 14th, and 15th regions, as well as last year's champion/runner-up. From there, schools either take their bids or decline them and the process moves on. This year's field looks great, with the top 4 teams in the 14th and two teams in Bell County and Jackson County from the 13th that no one should sleep on.

The Field:

Perry Central plays Bell County & Cordia plays Lawrence County in one bracket.

Knott Central plays Middlesboro & Hazard plays Jackson County in one bracket.

A full bracket can be found here.

Here's a link to the KHSAA Scoreboard dates and times:

2013/14 Kentucky High School Boys Basketball

Any thoughts or predictions?

Perry Central over Bell....Cordia and Lawrence County should be a really good game.

Knott Central over Middlesboro....Hazard and Jackson County should be a good game.

I'm going with Knott to win the WYMT

Perry,Cordia, Knott, and Hazard advance.

Perry vs. Knott in the final

Knott wins the Classic with Evan Hall as MVP.

Jackson County beating Hazard in the first one wouldn't shock me.

Collier or whoever the other bigs are will have to do a really good job on Husdon (and Hollan) unless they just try to outscore them though.
