Warren Central 70 Henderson County 64

Featured Replies

Warren Central trails by as much as 14 in the third quarter, but rallies behind pressure and then has to once again hold on at the end to get the W.

Unlike the Madisonville tournament where the Dragons mowed down their opponents, they have seemed content to stay at the level of their opponents in this tournament. Both Cordia and Henderson County are good to very good teams. Central could have easily won both, but couldn't hold a lead against Cordia and had a poor start against Henderson before rallying. With Butler, they started out on fire (scored first 9), finished on fire (to win by 9), and in the middle allowed Butler to take an 8 point halftime lead on them, necessitating a rally. The same Butler that just got the roof dropped on them by Henry Clay (which lost to Henderson County - twice). Central is capable of playing great, but this tourney has shown an uneven process. But they should settle in once they get into region play and their whole team gets ramped up to speed. It just would be nice to have that NOW.

According to Twitter, Porter-Bunton had 24 points and 9 rebounds for Warren Central, Simmons with a double-double 27 and 12 for Henderson County.

One of Warren Central's better players was in a walking boot yesterday. Don't have my program in front of me right now, but he's the kid with dreads with light tips, guard.

How long is he going to be out?

I have to assume it's Chris Amos, since I know Rondell Green played today. You might have mixed the two up since Amos didn't play his first game of the year until this tournament due to a broken ankle in September. That's another reason I assume you mean Amos. I know he played yesterday, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was precautionary. But I haven't seen video yet to know if he played against Henderson County.

If he is out, it's a bit of a cap on upside because he is expected to be be a strong contributor off the bench. But I'm not aware of a problem yet and his Twitter feed betrays no issues.

Green was the kid I was thinking of. Maybe it was just ice and a brace or something that he had on yesterday if he played today.

Yeah, I know he looked fine on film against Butler, but I haven't seen any film from today's game. Doesn't sound serious, I think I would have heard that.

Gotcha. Probably just a precaution to get some compression and reduce swelling. I just didn't see him listed in your rundown and wondered.

I think it was Green and he had an ice wrap on his ankle/foot after the game on Friday.

Someone else had an ice wrap on their knee.
