I have heard from people inside the program that one of 2 things will be happening soon; either Coach McGlone will retire or he will be forced out. Anyone out there that can confirm this information or rebut it?

I have heard the same thing...the whole thing on how it went down to a legend like this is a shame. He should go out on his own terms, but that is not the case in Flatwoods.

There are some very good people in that fan base, I have family and friends there. There is also some out in Devil nation that thinks they run things, are about stupid with it. Those are the same ones that have and are doing all the harm out there. I have heard of bc one "wannabe king" that was in their JFL program some 7,8,9 yrs. ago (maybe still is, I have no idea) that Russell had some parents take their child out of football, moved to other distrcts and started in their JFL at that time and continued with their kids is that school system. This was more that one kid moved to various other schools, districts. Other JFL kids in that same particular time period quit football all together.

Ivan McGlone has had/has some serious health problems, lost his long time companion in his wife when she passed a few years ago but Ivan McGlone has not all of a sudden forgot football or how to coach it.

I don't have a "dog in the fight" at Russell but I will say this. Pushing that man that has brought them all the district, regional and state titles plus the positive affect on the school, community and most important all the hundred if not thousands of kids/payers through the years would be as classless as it can ever get. Especially when he offered to resign and they wouldn't let him.
